Saiph's Goal
My name is Ethan, and I built Saiph to do technology work for local businesses and organizations in Stafford County the way I'd want it done. It can be hard to find someone you trust to outsource something to. You don't want your mechanic to upsell you, you don't want your electrician to hose you on a fix you didn't really need. My goal is to establish strong, local relationships with members of our community, so that we can accomplish goals with honesty and integrity, and work towards making things a little better one small step at a time.
Technology moves really fast, and it can be hard to keep up. I hope to provide a service that helps our community stay on top of things, and educate people and organizations about how to use technology to their advantage. I also hope to inspire others to take the same steps within their own communities, so that we can all work towards a better future together.
What Saiph Stands For
You should own your own stuff.
Too many tools treat your data like a commodity. When I build something for a client, the accounts, the domain, and the data belong to them. If you decide to work with someone else down the road, everything transfers cleanly, because you are the one with the keys.
The next person should be able to pick it up.
A volunteer leaves or a staff member moves on, people come and go in organizations. For anything we build, our goal is to make it so that the solution can persist through those changes. Documentation and clear processes are key to this.
Fix it before you replace it.
I'm not going to recommend new software if what you have just needs configuring. A lot of the time, the tools are fine. The problem is how they were set up, or that nobody showed anyone how to use them.
Teach, don't just build.
I'd rather show you how something works than keep you dependent on me for it. The goal is for your organization to be more capable when we're done, not less.
